Mr Fashola said that the road was a laudable project carried out by the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Works.

“The contractor did professional and quality work. The institution’s management and everyone attest to the fact that the work met federal standards.

“The institution is expanding; they have many facilities and buildings springing up in undeveloped territories. This shows that it is growing.

“To complement this growth, the FG through the Ministry of Works carried out this road construction.’’

He added that he was impressed at the level of development in and around the polytechnic and praised the management.

The minister was represented by Mr Martins Oluwaseyi, an Engineer.

“This road no doubt consolidates the infrastructure development during my ongoing tenure; it has greatly improved the ambience and decency of the institution.

“It offers our staff and students the opportunity to move freely without any form of discomfort as they go about their official and academic duties. This ultimately, will boost learning activities,” she said.

Dr Nwafulugo also noted that the 1.23km road was executed under the Tertiary Institution Road Intervention Programme of the Federal Ministry of Works and expressed her gratitude to the contractor, SAGEZ Nig. Ltd., for a job well done.

She reassured of her determination and commitment at transforming and repositioning the institution to be the most outstanding polytechnic within and outside the country.

“The management is passionate about holistic transformation of the polytechnic and repositioning it to take prime place among polytechnics.

“We are therefore not relenting on our quest in making this vision a reality. This well constructed road project complements our vision,” she stressed.
