.
It was a double celebration for the members of the Coalition of 2019 Anambra State House of Assembly Candidates, as President Muhammadu Buhari appointed two Anambra indigens into the Governing Council Boards of a federal University and federal Polytechnic.

The new appointees include Hon. Paul Ezeobi, who is a member and the Coordinator of the Coalition, and Hon. Rebecca Uzoamaka Nwatah-Udorji, both of whom President Buhari recently appointed as members of the Governing Council Boards of Modibbo Adama Federal University of Technology, Yola, and Federal Polytechnic, Wannune, Benue State, respectively.

The group, in a statement released over the week, expressed their heartfelt joy and congratulated the members for the appointments, which they described as laudable, well-deserved and meritorious.

While extolling the leadership capacity of their Coordinator, Hon. Ezeobi, which they said, aimed him the appointment; the group also immensely appreciated President Buhari for finding their members worthy of occupying such important and enviable positions, and also thanked him for other ways he has manifestly carried Ndi Igbo and their interests along in his administration.

The Coalition further expressed optimism that the appointments would, in diverse ways, bring tremendous development to the University, the Polytechnic, and the country at large, as the appointees will bring on board their expertise and wealth of knowledge and experience in the discharge of their roles and in the Councils' decision-making. They also commended Sen. Dr. Chris Ngige for providing purposeful leadership to members of the party in Anambra State, especially by recommending them into various positions of authority in the country.

The group also pleaded for more slots to be allotted and extended to other members of the group who are all eminently qualified.

It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari recently approved the appointments of members of the Governing Council Board of the Modibbo Adama Federal University of Technology, Yola, with Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu as the Chairman; and Hon. Paul Ezeobi, Dr. Benjamin Asharver, Alh Abubakar Umar D/Daji, Ali Ibrahim Dogarai, as members. He also approved the appointments of the Governing Council Board of the Federal Polytechnic, Wannune, Benue State, with Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi as the Chairman, while Hon. Rebecca Uzoamaka Nwatah-Udorji, Mike Mussaan, Dahiru Ibrahim, and Adebayo Adeniyi Mikail are all members.

Prior to this appointment, Hon. Paul Ezeobi, was the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Nnewi South Constituency 2 in the 2019 House of Assembly election, has been a very influential Chieftain of the party in the state and beyond. He has used his network and influence to attract numerous developmental projects to Anambra state, among which is the newly reconstructed Ulasi Bridge in Ezinifite, Nnewi South Local Government Area, which borders Anambra and Imo States.

Hon. Ezeobi is also a member of the Anambra State Committee on Federal Government's 774000 Jobs Scheme, and has also facilitated the approval of different federal government empowerment programmes   for the good people of  Anambra state.

On her own part, Hon. Nwatah-Udorji who is dedicated to the struggle for women empowerment, social and economic change in Nigeria, has served as a rural community leader, council woman and legislator in Anambra State where she represented the good people of Awka North, with laudable achievements.

A successful teacher, entrepreneur and the Director of Rufelcson Nigeria –which is a company with a portfolio in diverse markets and the goal of enabling rural and urban women achieve social justice and financial stability –she has played the role of providing knowledge, skill sets and re-shaping the mindsets of the belligerent youths in the country. The lives and stories of these struggling youths, she once said, influenced her decision to venture into public service, so as to effect a positive change in the nation and the society at large.
