Awka, June 11, 2020 (MOI) Following recent cabinet reshuffle effected by Gov. Willie Obiano involving four Commissioners, Mr Afam Mbanefo has formally taken over at the Transport Ministry from his predecessor, Dr Christian Madubuko.

Mr Mbanefo was formerly of the Ministry of Youth Entrepreneurship and Creative Economy, while Dr Madubuko was reassigned to Ministry of Diaspora, Culture, Indigenous Art Work and Tourism.

In a speech shortly after the handover ceremony held at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka, Mr Mbanefo pledged to add value to the ministry.

He solicited the support and cooperation of staff members of the ministry to enable him to succeed in piloting its affairs, stressing that the utmost goal would be to the overall interest of the state.

Earlier, the out-gone Commissioner, Dr Madubuko, said he recorded some achievements: ``I will expect my successor to consolidate on the gains made so far.

``I think, we the commissioners have done well to deserve to be re-assigned to other Ministries to continue to serve in other capacities,’’ he said.

While describing his successor as a result-oriented administrator, he said official documents handed over to him would provide the needed framework and guide for a hitch-free take off.

The event was witnessed by staff members of the Ministry, Heads of Agencies under the Ministry, TRACAS, VIO and ATMA, Political Appointees and some stakeholders in the transport sector.
