Pa Okoye-Mezue Laid to Rest in Alor

The remains of the late Pa Leonard Okoye-Mezue (JP), has been laid to rest in his hometown, Okebunoye, Alor in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Speaking during the funeral, the first daughter of the deceased, Mrs Juliet Nwafor discribed her late father as an Iroko, Icon, Philanthropist and a man of honour.
Her word: "He is a man who carried people along and who people always speak about his goodness. He is a man you can talk of when you remember somebody being helpful to people. He is a humble man..."
First son of the deceased also known as System B said the death of his father has taught him another special lesson, adding that he will do his best to maintain the role of a father left by his father.
"I promise I will keep the flag on in our family knowing fully well that he will be with me in spirit. His advice to us and anyone that came across him will never be in vain..."
Also speaking, the son of the late Okoye-Mezue, Epi Okoye (JP) said growing up with his father was so sketchy but he was always encouraged by him to become a better person, adding that he will always appreciate his words of advice as well as ensuring peace among his siblings and entire family of Okoye-Mezue.
Some other relations discribed the late Okoye-Mezue as irreplaceable, vibrant, industrious and benevolent man who has no boundary in his love for his people and a man everybody will want to associate with both within and outside the community.
The funeral attracted many dignitaries from different works of life including the popular Nigerian based businessman, entertainer and owner of Cubana Groups, Chief Obinna Iyiegbu, Friend of Friends club of Nigeria among many others.
Pa Okoye-Mezue, who died at 86 was married to Mrs Cordelia Nonye Okoye-Mezue and blessed with children, grandchildren, in-laws and many relations.
Among his children are Tochukwu, Vincent, Evang. Nduka Max (Murphy), Alex (Akunaedozi Obi na Alor), Mrs Juliet Nwafor, Jane Ocheze and Okwuchukwu Okoye-Mezue.
