Anambra Police Command Bursts Cult Initiation, Arrests 6 Suspects

The Police Operatives attached to Anti-Cult unit of Anambra State Police Command burst the den of cultists and armed robbery gang in Amiwko Village, Awka and arrested six suspects.
The Anambra State Police Command's spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu disclosed this in a statement to newsmen in Awka, in which he also revealed that the Command also recovered 2 locally-made pistols with 8 live cartridges in the process.
The statement reads in parts, "Following a credible intelligence at about 12pm, today 13th of April, 2021, Police Operatives attached to Anti-Cult unit of Anambra State Police Command burst the Den of Cultist and Armed robbery gang in Amiwko Village Awka and arrested six suspects.
"The suspects are Ejinaka Chukwujekwu ‘M’ aged 17years, Emeka Nwanna ‘M’ aged 18years, Micheal Ozuah ‘M’ 20years, Chukwuma Obu ‘M’ 22years, Onyemaechi Chijoke ‘M’ 25years and Ifeanyi Ebeze ‘M’ 25years.*
"Exhibits recovered: two locally-made pistols and eight live cartridges.
"Preliminary investigations reveals that the suspects are actively involved in the recent shooting incident at about 8:am, yesterday 12th April, 2021, that resulted to the death of one yet unidentified young man along Ukwuoji , Awka.
"They equally confessed to be members of BLACK AXE CONFRATERNITY and will be charged to court on the conclusion of the investigations.
"Meanwhile,the Commissioner of Police CP Monday Bala Kuryas, fsi thanked "Ndi Anambra" for their cooperation and urged them to sustain the tempo by assisting the Command with actionable intelligence in order to discover authors of crime in the State.
"He also call on all stakeholders to partner with the Police to address the security issues associated with Cultism among the youths."
