Anambra Government inaugurates Caretaker Committee for Ogbo Ogwu Market, Onitsha

Awka, July 24, 2020 (MOI) Anambra State Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mr Uchenna Okafor has inaugurated a Caretaker Committee for Patent Medicine Dealers Association (Ogbo Ogwu Market), Onitsha.
The committee with a three months mandate would be chaired by Mr Donatus Ajamma, while Mr Ugochukwu Nwosu will serve as its secretary.
The inauguration was held at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka
Mr Okafor urged the committee to ensure that peace and government policies, especially COVID-19 protocols were maintained in and around the market.
He promised to conduct a proper election for the Association, once the ban on gathering of people was lifted.
The Caretaker Chairman, Mr Ajamma pledged that the committee would make traders at the market and Anambra State Government proud in the discharge of their duties.
The Market relocation Committee, headed by a Director, Markets, from the Ministry, Mr Frank Ilodiuba, was also sworn in.
The relocation committee was charged with finding a suitable permanent site for the group.
Present at the occasion include chairmen and secretaries of various sections of the market, Anambra State Market and Traders Association (ASMATA) Chairman, Mr Ikechukwu Ekwegbalu, ASMATA Zonal Chairmen.
