Two Die, Three Injured in Anambra Road Crash

At least two persons have met their untimely death, while three others were severely injured in a road crash that occurred in Anambra State.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Acting Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Command, DRC. Margaret B. Onabe

The statement reads, "A Fatal Crash occurred at Ekulo River Oraifite along Owerri- Onitsha highway today 8th September, 2021 at about 18:55hours.

"The crash involved one vehicle. 
A. An Ash color Toyota Sienna with vehicle registration number: ENU609CN.

"The cause of the fatal crash was attributed to speed. According to eye witness report, the driver was on high speed, lost control and rammed into a ditch.

"Seven people comprising  (5 male adult, and 2 female adult) were involved in the crash.
3 casualties: (2 male, and 1 female) sustained varies of injuries. 2 male adult were killed."

Continuing, it reads, "As at the time of filing this report, the injured victims were rescued by FRSC personnel to Josephine and Lawrence Hospital, Oraifite and 2 male adults were confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. The corpses of the dead victims were deposited at Restland Mortuary Oraifite. FRSC officers and men were on ground managing traffic, and ensuring obstructions caused were cleared. 

"The Sector Commander FRSC, Anambra State, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi expressed his sympathy to the family of the dead victims.

"He urged Motorist to maintain Safe driving speed limits because speed leads to loss of control."
