Nnewi South TC Chair, Okoye Hosts Emeadi, the African Light Heavyweight Champion

The Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi South, Hon. Engr. Chieloka Henry Okoye has received and played host to Mr. Angus Emeadi, the professional wrestler from the council area who recently emerged the African Light Heavyweight Champion.
Speaking at the event, which held at Ukpor, Nnewi South Capital, Mr. Emeadi, popularly known as 'Executioner' noted that the fight, the 'African Light Heavyweight Championship' which held in Lagos State, Nigeria, on December 19 saw him defeat his Sierra Leonean opponent, Ambudim, popularly known as 'De Shark' few minutes after the fight's commencement, to win the highly rated and highly coveted African Light Heavyweight Champion title.
Emeadi, who is an indigen of Ebenator Ozulogu in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, appreciated the TC Chairman, Engr. Okoye, and the Local Government for immensely supporting, encouraging and praying for him, both before and during the Fight, which he noted, contributed to his victory.
While calling for more and sustained government and individual support and encouragement, Mr. Emeadi who started sporting activities in 1983 as a weight lifter, but later joined professional wrestling in 1985, further opined that there's gain in sporting, and called on youths who have sporting talents to hone and harness them maximally, so as to go far in the sporting field and in life.
Responding, the TC Chairman, Engr. Chieloka Okoye described the victory as a very laudable one, and noted that it has once again proved that Nnewi South has great and mighty people who are making the Local Government, Anambra State, Nigeria and Africa at large proud in the world in their various fields of endeavour.
While congratulating and reassuring of the Local Government's continued support to Mr. Emeadi, Mr. Okoye who assured that his administration will always support youths with meaningful initiatives and special talents, further urged other youths in the Local Government who have sporting talents to seek their fortune in the sporting caree and profession, as the benefits of sports in both personal, societal and national developments can never be overemphasized.
Highpoint of the event was the official presentation of the belt to the TC Chairman, Engr. Okoye, by Mr. Emeadi, flanked by the Councillor representing Ebenator Ward, Hon. Amaechi Anyika; Nze Adolphus Mmegwa Jnr. (Umeh Ohamadike; and Mr. Marcus Ebere Udeze, who was also a professional wrestler from Ebenator.
