In Lagos, Fire Guts Ladipo Market, Damages Goods Worth Millions

It was a rueful moment, as fire Guts Ladipo Market in Lagos in the early hours of today and damaged goods worth million in naira value.

Disclosing this, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) says shops containing car accessories worth millions of naira have was gutted by fire during the incident.

The NEMA Acting Zonal Co-ordinator, South-West Zonal Office, Ibrahim Farinloye, who spoke to newsmen revealed that the fire started at about 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to him, the shops gutted by the fire contained vehicle air conditioners, engine oil, paints and other car accessories, with firefighters having hectic time putting out the fire, because most of the accessories were inflammable. 

Farinloye also said that no one was trapped or died in the incident, but assured that investigations were ongoing to unravel the cause of the fire and the actual extent of damages caused by the outbreak.
