In Anambra, Suspected Cultists Kill, Behead Man, Use His Head to Play Soccer

A short video clip going viral on social media has shown some suspected members of a dangerous cult group kill and play soccer with the head of an unidentified man in Anambra State. 

The incident was said to have happened in an area predominantly occupied by students of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu  Ojukwu University in Igbariam, Anambra East local government area of the state.

According to the video, a young man with dreadlock was dragged out of his car and shot at close range. The man was later beheaded by his assailants, who thereafter, brought his head to a square, where they used it to play soccer and make jest of him.

Reacting to the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga said the state's Commissioner of Police, CP  Command Tony Olofu has ordered a discreet investigation on the shooting incident, which happened over the weekend. 

He said: “The Commissioner of police Anambra State command CP Tony Olofu has ordered investigation on the shooting incident on 25/9/2021 by 4pm along Igbariam road.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the shooting was as a result of rival cult clash. Meanwhile Police Operatives have intensified patrol and surveillance within the area. Further details shall be communicated."
