First Mr. and Miss Nnewi South Contest Holds This Night, Attend

It promises to be historic and hilarious, as the first Mr. and Miss Nnewi South set to emerge and be crowned this night at the occasion of the maiden edition of Mr. and Miss Nnewi South Contest/ Nnewi South Youths Carnival holding today.

According to a statement issued by the Chairman of the Planning Committee, MacDonald Ifeme, the event will hold today, Friday, January 7, 2022, at the Super Royal Hotel, Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, starting with red carpet at 4.pm, while main event kicks off at 6.pm.

He further revealed that the first prize winner in contest will receive a whooping sum of hundred thousand naira (₦100,000 cash), one year modelling contract and also become Ambassador of Nnewi South Local Government Area, among other consolation prizes to be awarded.

The event, which is the first of its kind in history of the local government, has participants and contestants drawn from the ten communities that make up the local government area, which include Ebenator, Ukpor, Akwaihedi, Osumenyi, Amichi, Unubi, Utuh, Ekwulumili, Azigbo, and Ezinifite.

Among other top dignitaries expected at the event are Transition Committee Chairman for Nnewi South, Engr. Chieloka Okoye; Nollywood actor and Vice Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Chief Mayor Ofoegbu; and another top Nollywood actor, Mr. Ernest Obi; while MC Onukwube and other superstars will wow the audience with their performances.

While inviting the youths and every onye Nnewi South to avail themselves this evening for the convivial event, Mr. Ifeme further revealed that the event is loaded with a plethora of features and packages slated to make it interesting, entertaining and entralling in every sense of it.
