Caleb Okechukwu Receives Car Gift from Anambra Speaker, As He Weds His heartthrob

By Izunna Okafor, Awka

It was a double celebration for Mr. Caleb Okechukwu, a media aide to the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uchnna Okafor, and one-time Nigeria's youngest political appointee, as he was gifted a new car by the Speaker on his wedding day.

The wedding which held at Chapel of Redemption, Unizik Temp. Site, Awka, the Anambra State capital, attracted many personalities who came to fete with the new couple.

Speaking at the event, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Okafor, described the groom as a hardworking, humble, resilient and committed young man, as he has manifestly proved to be over the years he has been working with him as an aide and key member of his media team.

While announcing the presentation of the new car to the new couple, he congratulated and wished them a successful, fruitful, lovely and joyful marriage, even as he reassured them of his continuous support and prayers.

Addressing newsmen on the worsening insecurity in the country, the Speaker who commended Anambra State Government for her prompt interventions in communal clashes and other security related issues across the state, also advised the youths and various agitating groups to always leverage the lawful process of settling disputes, rather than taking laws into their hands.

He also condemned burning of government facilities, attacking of police stations and other activities of the unknown gunmen in various parts of the country, especially in the South-east; even as he warned the arsonists and the perpetrators of such evil acts to desist from such.

Earlier in his homily at the service, the Assistant Chaplain, Chapel of Redemption, Awka, Rev. Lucky Onebunne advised the couple on how to build a Godly home and have a successful union; while, on his own part, the Chaplain, Rev. Obiorah Alokwu, PhD, prayed for the coupe's successful union and reminded the church of the need to always pray for them.

In his remarks, the Senior Special Assistant on Special Services to Governor Willie Obiano, Hon. Nwabufor Nwankwo, who was also the Chairman of the Occasion, described marriage as a union ordained by God, and expressed optimism that the couple would make a good home, even as he used the medium to condemn state of insecurity in the country, and called for calm on every end of the crisis.

In a vote of thanks, the bride, Mrs. Eunice Chiamaka Okechukwu and Mr. Caleb Chukwuagoziem Okechukwu, who was Nigeria's youngest political appointee as at the time of his appointment, appreciated everyone who came to celebrate with them, even as they prayed God to continue to make their marriage a testimony, as he has already begun to do with the new car gift.

The young Caleb and his equally young spouse hail from Igbakwu in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The event attracted members of the State's House of Assembly, top government functionaries, among others.
