Anambra APC Inaugurates Zonal/LG Excos, Okays 180 Delegates for National Convention

The newly-elected zonal and local government executives of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Anambra, have been inaugurated in Awka, the state's capital.

The event, which held at the party's state headquarters on Wednesday, featured the swearing-in of the executives of the party in the three senatorial zones and twenty-one local government areas of the state, as well as the selection of 180 delegates who will represent the state at the party’s National Convention, scheduled for Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Eagle Square, Abuja.

Speaking at the event, the state Chairman of the party, Chief Basil Ejidike explained that the 180 delegates were selected from the state executives, local government executives and political officeholders of the part, in line with the party's constitution.

He congratulated the newly-inaugurated executives, reminded them of the primary essence of a political party, which he said, is to win elections and advance the course of their environment and humanity; even as he also reminded them of their roles in achievio that for the party.

He said: “APC has all it takes to achieve this and more. Therefore, we must all put our hands on deck to reposition the party, and as well win the 2023 election. As a new family, we are poised to galvanize and harness our diverse potentials and resources to put our party in political positions in our dear state, Anambra.”

He noted that the APC-led Federal Government has benefited Ndị Anambra and Ndị Igbo in many ways, both in terms of infrastructural development, human capacity building and empowerment. He also commended President Mohammadu Buhari, on the ongoing construction of the Second Niger Bridge, Enugu-Onitsha Expressway and other infrastructural projects his government has executed in Anambra and the South-easten region at large

While testifying that the party is really progressing, Chief Ejidike further commended the Chairman of APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) and Yobe State Governor, Mr Mai Mala Buni, and the leader of the party in Anambra State, Senator Andy Uba, for moving the party forward in the state, despite some challenges cropping up here and there.

Speaking on behalf of others, one of the newly-inaugurated local government chairmen, Mr. Chidi Orjika of Nnewi South Local Government Area, appreciated the leadership and members of the party in the state for trusting, supporting and finding them worthy for such key positions, and pledged to devote more efforts and remain committed towards promoting and advancing the affairs of party at the grassroot and beyond.
