Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has directed closure of all primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in the state with effect from Thursday, March 26, 2020 for 30 days. Governor Okowa who gave the directive in a state broadcast at his office in Asaba on Friday, said the closure of the schools for 30 days in the first instance was aimed at preventing possible spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

PDP Diaspora Initiative, a US-based organization of diaspora members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has hailed the Thursday, February 13 decision of the Supreme Court in Nigeria as a big victory for democracy in Africa.

Anambra State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has finally started operating from its permanent Orientation Camping site at Mbaukwu/Umuawulu, Awka South Local Government Area (LGA). Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has approved the appointment of Dr. ACB Agbazuere as his new Chief of Staff. Dr. Agbazuere was until this new appointment, the General Manager of the Abia State Passenger Insurance Manifest and Safety Scheme.

Delta State Government on Friday approved the construction of drainage in Warri and Effurun to control flooding in the area. Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, made this known while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the state’s Executive Council meeting in Asaba.
